Information about the project:
International summer academy of music of Barenz-region – is a unique cultural educational project, which started in 1989 as a part of International festival of chamber art in town Kostomuksha (Republic Karelia). The aim of the project is preserving and developing of art education, as well as supporting of young talents.
In a picturesque corner of Karelia, in the land where famous north-karelian runes were born there takes place every summer a festival of arts, uniting creative activity, youth and talent. Annualy in a little northern town Kostomuksha the academy of magic begins its work…Young musicians from Republic Karelia and Russia get opportunity to be taught by well known professors, joining the tops of world,s art.
During these years the leading teachers of musical educational establishments of Moscow, St.Petersburg, Petrozavodsk, other towns of Russian Federation and foreign countries worked in ISMA, among them: pianists Andrei Diyev, Mikhail Lidsky, Ksenia Knorre, Ruvim Ostrovsky, Aleksandr Sanler, Naum Shtarkman, violinists Maki Itoi, Tatyana Liberova, Lyusi Holl, Graf Murzha, Natalya Fikhtengolts, Irina Svyatlovskaya, chellist Mark Drobinsky, Maria Zhuravlyova, Natalya Zavarzina, Aleksei Vasilyev, clarinetist Igor Fyodorov, bayanplayer Valentin Zaviryukha, composers Igor Rogalyov, Aleksandr Beloborodov, Haari Wessman and other well known musicians. Brilliant performings of professors of academy at the International festival of chamber art have always inspired students, have induced them to creative activity.
Today the ISMA invites musicians of all levels to take part in it: students and teachers of Republic Karelia and Russian Federation, countries of Barents region and foreign countries, as well as performers wishing to improve their professional level.
The participants of ISMA will be able:
• to be taught by the best teachers of Russia and foreign countries
• to visit the concerts of performers of world wide level
• to enrich the experience of solo performing
• to communicate with colleagues and persons of the same age
• to get acquaintance with amazing beauty of northern nature
